Leesburg Family Smiles began in 1973 with Dr. Douglas Herbert. Growing up in a military family, he longed to put down roots for his family and chose Loudoun County for his home. Dr. Herbert brought new levels of dentistry to the area, performing oral and periodontal (gum) surgery at Loudoun Hospital. He also assisted in bringing the first oral surgeons to the county.

Some of the children Dr. Herbert treated in his early career are still coming to the practice today. His legacy of humanity, honesty and dedication to excellence is continued through Dr. Walter Collazo and Dr. Daliah Bazerbashi.
